How Monkey Tag IO Works

Tips for Escaping and Chasing

Scope Out the Map Early

Honestly, map knowledge is everything. In my first few rounds, I lost count of how many times I panicked, took a wrong turn, and ran straight into a dead-end wall. Spend your early games just feeling out the map—figure out where the good climb paths are, memorize the tight corners, and get those tricky jumps down so you aren’t scrambling when someone’s hot on your tail.

Instead of following their exact footsteps, try to predict where they’re heading and take a shortcut to cut off their angle. Intercepting someone around a corner feels way more satisfying than a straight footrace.

Use Verticality to Your Advantage

Taking the high ground completely changes the game. When I'm getting chased, climbing up high usually lets me vanish from their vision entirely, giving me a second to catch my breath. And when I'm tagged? Dropping down on an unsuspecting player from above is easily the cleanest way to catch people off guard.
