Ruby Raid is one of those games that hooks you almost instantly. It’s a fast-paced arcade runner mixed with shooting action, and you play as a treasure hunter who makes a very bad (but exciting) decision—stealing a sacred ruby and waking up the terrifying Eye God. The objective is straightforward: endure as long as you can and complete the task. But if that laser catches you… It’s over in a split second.

Right from the start, the game throws you into the action. The moment you grab the ruby, everything goes wrong—in the best way possible. The Eye God awakens, and suddenly there’s this relentless laser beam right behind you. It doesn’t slow down, it doesn’t miss, and it definitely doesn’t forgive mistakes. You’re forced to keep moving forward, reacting quickly, and staying focused if you want to survive.
Your character runs automatically, which sounds easy at first—but it’s not. Blocks, obstructions, and even worshippers attempting to stop you abound on the route ahead.
It’s that kind of gameplay where one small mistake can ruin a great run, so you really have to stay sharp.
The laser behind you amplifies the intensity. It’s always creeping closer, especially if you hesitate or mess up. I quickly learned that stopping—even for a moment—is not an option. At the same time, you’re trying to collect rubies along the way, which adds a bit of risk-reward thinking. Do you go for that extra gem, or play it safe? That tension is what makes the game so addictive.
As you collect more gems, you can unlock new weapons, which honestly makes a big difference. Stronger firepower is very helpful as the later runs become substantially more difficult.
Use the left arrow key to jump and the right arrow key to fire your weapon. It’s simple, but once you get into the rhythm, it feels surprisingly satisfying and responsive.
This game throws you straight into a fast-paced mix of shooter and runner mechanics, and honestly, it keeps your adrenaline up the whole time.
You can unlock more than twenty-five weapons, each with special powers. I found myself experimenting a lot just to see which ones fit my playstyle best, and that added a lot of replay value.
The controls are super easy to pick up, so you don’t waste time figuring things out—you just jump right in. But don’t let that fool you. The game gradually raises the difficulty, and every run feels like a real challenge.
